SANTA CLARITA, CA. Nonprofit 501 c3 Power Woman Business Center hosted an evening of business and networking with Santa Clarita’s business owners and professionals on June 26th to celebrate four successful Latina women.  Author of Profiles In Latino Courage: How Everyday Latinos Achieve Success, Bill Miranda, led the event as moderator and opened with an acknowledgement to Kenny Crespo, New York Life’s senior market management associate, for greatly assisting in the sponsorship of the event.

Thank you to the following panelists:
Patricia Gracia, founder and president of Power Media Group, Inc. and 501 c3 nonprofit Power Woman Business Center
Dr. Claudia Acosta, president of the Board of Santa Clarita International Programs and Sister Cities (SCVIP)
Gloria Mercado-Fortine, president of the William S. Hart High School governing board, and 2014 candidate for Santa Clarita Valley city council
Patsy Ayala, corporate relations director for Nuestros Valles/Our Valleys bilingual advertising
Berta Montoya, senior marketing associate with New York Life Insurance Company

Bill led the panel discussion with insightful questions for the panelists that gave the audience a more intimate view on how each of these women arrived to their successes.

“Latinas With Power” also celebrated the growth of the Hispanic market in the U.S.  These four women panelists served as proof of the ongoing rise in not only women leadership, but leadership by Latinos in general.
Following the discussion, attendees were treated to food and beverages from sponsors Tequila 88, California Bakery & Café and Reyes Winery.

An entrepreneur’s ideal launch pad, PWBC donates countless hours to overseeing the development and success of each business that comes through the organization.  The organization provides training and leadership seminars, business planning and networking strategies to any of its members.  It is this kind of dedication, along with community and board member support, that allows the program to exist.
