Dear Esteemed Members and Friends,
Our members have a chance to do something very special: help elect the first Latina woman to our City Council, the outstandingly qualified Gloria Mercado-Fortine.

Gloria serves on our Board of Directors. She grew up in the Santa Clarita Valley and has built an incredible career of accomplishments. I know Gloria well having included a chapter about her in my book, Profiles in Latino Courage. She is the leader we need to build a more diversely inclusive community in Santa Clarita.

If you want to read more about Gloria you can get her story and my book tomorrow evening at a fundraiser we are holding on her behalf.

Teresa Rivera and Al Robles have graciously offered Cheers @ All Corked Up as host of the event, which starts at 5:30pm. Henry Rodriguez of State Farm has graciously offered to sponsor free books to anyone who donates to Gloria's campaign and I will sign them.

Please join us for this very important event. All of Santa Clarita is watching to see how strongly we will support Gloria. Let's give them something to see!
