That's what a hamburger, customer service, value, and being fast is all about: In-N-Out Burger comes in at the top of Consumer Reports' first-ever major ratings of fast food restaurants.
The SoCal classic chain came up via subscriber survey as having better food and customer service among 53 chains, including bottom-dwellers Burger King, KFC, McDonald's, and Taco Bell, explains Consumer Reports. At those four "quick-service" spots, no more than 11 percent of those surveyed called the food there "excellent." A total of over 98,000 visits were logged to determine the survey results.
Other findings indicate consumers are finding their fast food slow, though in some cases, a chain had good service but lousy food. Also, while customers "talk thin," they "order fat," meaning not very many people actually order the more "healthy" options on menus.
Sadly, their "best fries" test was done in NY, so In-N-Out didn't get a chance to compete. Smother those babies Animal Style, get served with a cheery smile, forget your calorie-counting for the moment, and be proud L.A. is home to In-N-Out.
