Santa Monica Business Owner Appointed to National Women's Business Council

(Washington, DC) -- Jaime Nack, the Santa Monica, Calif. based founder and President of environmental consulting firm Three Squares Inc., has been appointed to serve a three-year term on the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC), a nonpartisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners.

“Jaime Nack is a credible and knowledgeable voice for small business owners,” said Donna A. James, Chair of the NWBC appointed by President Obama in October 2010. “She understands first-hand the unique challenges women business owners face in their journey from the start-up phase to success and significance. I look forward to working with Jaime and the other women leaders of the National Women’s Business Council on the economic issues that matter most to women business owners.”

“I am humbled by this appointment and excited to serve in a capacity which will continue to open doors for future generations of women business owners,” said Nack. “It is an honor to serve on the National Women’s Business Council and to work with and to advise the President, Congress, and the U. S. Small Business Administration on policy issues related to expanding opportunities for women-owned firms.”

Members of the NWBC are prominent women business owners and leaders of women’s business organizations. The Council's mission is to promote bold initiatives, and review policies and programs designed to support women's business enterprises at all stages of development in the public and private sector marketplaces.

Nack is President of the Southern California Green Meeting Industry Council Chapter and has played a major role in establishing national green meeting standards. She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Westside Special Olympics and the ArtsEarth Partnership. She serves as a presenter for Vice President Al Gore's The Climate Project.
